Questions, answered
Why can a 7% FD lose money?
A 7 percent FD is taxed at your slab, dropping it to about 4.9 percent for a 30 percent taxpayer. If inflation is 6 percent, your purchasing power actually shrinks. This is why high earners need growth assets, not just deposits, for long-term money.
